How judged we are and it is so sad to have to not only outgrow shyness but to defend a character trait that you don't really have a lot of control over and doesn't change overnight! Even being in my 40's I am still very shy - despite having been a teacher! (idea for another post!)......."no" is not a word that is easily come by by shy people and hard to use. Like you, I am learning as well. Some people are better at pushing what they want from us than us shy ones being able to stand up and say "no". Thanks for your posts as well...they are refreshing to read as well.

Yes, you can print off my pictures if you would like. I enjoy photography with my little camera. In highschool I won several photography awards through different venues but didn't do anything with this talent. Maybe I should. Have been thinking of creating an Etsy account to sell pictures for a reasonable (cheap) price. :) ......but by all means you have permission to print what you wish. Thanks for asking!!!!lauriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07501076047676675921noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3383442919021529110.post-43002601491046843802011-07-17T14:56:04.938-07:002011-07-17T14:56:04.938-07:00I to was thought of as a snob, and have had friend...I to was thought of as a snob, and have had friends tell me that before they knew me they thought i was stuck up. But they relized I was just really really shy. SO I get the post and what your saying. I used to let what others thought of me really get to me. But after having inlaws who seem look down on me it has made me not care. I guess I have them to thank for that...lol I once could not say the word no, and the great thing as you get older it seems like its gets easy to say no. Will it make you liked? no but I have learned that sometimes it not worth saying yes to everything just to be liked. If saying no once make someone not like me then well I dont need you in my life. I like your blog and how you just put your thoughts out there no holding back. Very refreshing. By the way love your photos. I love love hydrangea could I maybe print a few of your photos for framing? If your rather not that is okay I am fine with hearing no....lolCraftyShellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14757945736304260673noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3383442919021529110.post-43503143649358088682011-07-12T10:13:17.201-07:002011-07-12T10:13:17.201-07:00Hi Ms Magpie Designs! First, I found some spelling...Hi Ms Magpie Designs! First, I found some spelling mistakes and sheesh is all I can say giving the fact that I am a TEACHER! Oh boy...Time to edit, edit, edit again. Needless to say, thank you for your words and encouragement. I LOVE your quote and darn it almighty it is hard to be yourself...really. I recently discovered this which lead to this post on a whim. I want to be more of myself but feel the pressures of all the titles we wear as women...mom, wife, sister, daughter, professional, friend, and the list continues way beyond these obvious roles. Guess who is last on the list? me. We claim to be ourself but we are also hardest on ourself. Yet again, another thing I am trying to figure out. Who am I after I fulfill all these roles? Let me see...I am not quite sure. Your quote is being jotted in my quote book after this response. So, thank you for reading, stopping by, and posting. BTW - those are not my flowers. My aunt and uncle are master gardeners and these pictures were taken over the July 4th weekend! Arent' they just beautiful? Happy Day to You!lauriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07501076047676675921noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3383442919021529110.post-42920314205932769932011-07-12T06:04:03.541-07:002011-07-12T06:04:03.541-07:00Oh Laurie,
Reading your last few posts, I want to ...Oh Laurie,
Reading your last few posts, I want to comment on all of them but I think I would just repeat the same things over and over. I totally agree with your comment on my blog that we are alot alike. When I read your posts, I totally feel for you. I am a pleaser too and I really stuggle with ignoring outside noise and people's reactions (or lack of). I love this quote...{because you know how much I love quotes} "If you're able to be yourself, then you have no competition." Everyone was made the way they were for a reason and you are well on your way to peace in knowing your purpose and direction. So many people don't even know what they love....and you do!! BTW....I love the hydrangea at the top of your post. Are those yours? I am watering a neighbors flowers while they are out of town and it's all I can do to not pick a hydrangea flower.

Your honesty is so refreshing and rare and your insight it so sweet and sincere!

I hope you have a wonderful week. Keep doing what you're doing....you'll get "there"....wherever your "there" ends up being. ;)Sharon @ Ms Magpie Designshttp://www.msmagpiedesigns.comnoreply@blogger.com
